This Privacy Policy explains how PARABOX LLC (“Parabox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use Parabox (the “Service”).
This Policy applies to the Parabox mobile application, parabox.app and other Parabox websites, publicly reachable Parabox interfaces such as Relay, and related services and communications (collectively, the "Service").
You must be 18 years of age or older to create or maintain a Parabox account.
Minors who are at least 13 years old may participate in age-appropriate Parabox experiences only through the account of, and under the direct supervision of, a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old, as described in our Terms of Service. Parabox is not intended for and may not be used by children under 13, whether independently or under adult supervision.
Parabox does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not ask supervised minors to provide their own account information and we do not create accounts for them. Information generated while a supervised minor participates is collected and associated with the adult account holder's account.
An adult account holder who submits content depicting a supervised minor represents that they have the authority to do so. A parent or guardian may request removal of content depicting their minor at [email protected].
If we learn that an account was created or is independently operated by a person under 18, we may suspend or terminate the account and delete associated personal information, subject to information we are legally required or reasonably permitted to retain. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information to Parabox, or that a minor has created or is independently operating an account, may contact us at [email protected].
We may collect internal user or operator ID, operator handle, authentication information, account status, ranks, designations, achievements, progression, recruiting or referral relationships, subscription or entitlement status, and account settings. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive information made available according to your Apple settings.
Parabox is built around real-world exploration. With your permission, we may collect and store precise or approximate location information to provide and support features such as nearby Anomalies, Operations, live multiplayer positioning, maps, routes, Plots, Expeditions, rendezvous or meetup functionality, location-based unlocking, proximity features, safety and accessibility reporting, deployment history, and verification that an operator has reached or interacted with a location.
Precise location is sensitive information. We process it only for the Parabox purposes described in this Policy and with the consent or other authorization required by applicable law. Parabox does not sell precise location information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.
Location information associated with your account may be retained as part of your Parabox history until you delete your account or request deletion, unless we are required or permitted to retain particular information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or similar purposes.
Some features may not function without location access. You can change location permission through your device settings.
We may collect experiences started or completed, puzzle and objective progress, anomaly interactions, Operation participation and results, team or lobby information, timestamps, deployment counts, game state, achievements, referrals, unlocks, reports of inaccessible locations, and related gameplay events.
We may collect device type, operating-system version, application version, device or installation identifiers, IP address, server request logs, diagnostic information, crash information, performance information, and usage events. Parabox's product analytics are operated on infrastructure controlled by Parabox rather than through a third-party advertising or analytics network.
Parabox operates publicly reachable interfaces, including Relay, that may be used with or without a Parabox account. When you interact with these interfaces, we may collect and retain the requests you submit, the responses returned, timestamps, IP address, and related technical request information for gameplay, operational, security, abuse-prevention, and troubleshooting purposes. Do not submit personal or sensitive information through these interfaces. If Parabox issues you an operator token or similar identifier that links submissions to your account, information submitted with that token may be associated with your account and retained as part of your Parabox history.
Parabox may use the camera and device sensors for augmented-reality tracking, scene understanding, RoomPlan or room scanning, image recognition, and related functionality. Camera imagery, AR tracking data, and RoomPlan/room-scan data are processed on your device and do not leave your device by default.
Such content or spatial data may be uploaded only when you affirmatively choose to share content—for example, by sharing a highlight—or when you intentionally submit information as part of deploying or creating an anomaly or other Parabox experience. Information you choose to upload will be processed and stored as necessary to provide that feature.
If you choose to submit or share content, we may collect profile information, feedback, reports, messages, photos, videos, highlights, deployment or anomaly content, scheduled activity information, and information submitted through forms or community features.
For App Store purchases, Apple processes payment information and Parabox may receive transaction identifiers, receipts, subscription status, product identifiers, renewal information, and information needed to verify purchased access. Parabox does not receive your full payment-card number for App Store transactions. If Parabox offers other payment methods, payment processors may process payment and related information while Parabox receives information necessary to administer the transaction.
If you contact us, we may retain your message, contact information, and related correspondence. If you separately choose to receive optional email, SMS, push, or other communications, we may process the contact information and communication preferences necessary to provide them. Where required, marketing communications will be sent only with the applicable consent and will include a method to opt out.
We use information to operate the Service; create and maintain accounts; authenticate users; provide location-based experiences; synchronize multiplayer sessions; display nearby content; provide routes and requested location functionality; preserve deployment and gameplay history; track progress; provide ranks, achievements, designations, and rewards; verify purchases and subscriptions; administer Nexus; provide recruiting and referral functionality; operate user-deployed anomalies and shared highlights; detect cheating, fraud, abuse, and security threats; troubleshoot and improve the Service; perform self-hosted analytics; respond to support requests; develop new experiences; enforce our Terms; protect users and the public; and comply with legal obligations.
Certain multiplayer or social features may display your location or relative position to other participants—for example, an Operation may display team or participant positions on a live map. When a feature is designed to share location with other users, that sharing is part of the feature's operation. Do not join location-sharing activities with people with whom you are uncomfortable sharing your location.
Location data transmitted to Parabox as part of these features may also become part of the account and deployment records described in this Policy.
We may share information necessary for social and multiplayer features, such as operator handle, public profile information, rank or designation, deployment statistics, team membership, game status, user-shared content, and location during features designed to share participant location.
We may disclose information to service providers that process information on our behalf to help us operate infrastructure, app distribution, payments, communications, mapping, hosting, security, or customer support. We provide them only the information reasonably necessary for the services they perform and require appropriate protection of personal information. Parabox operates its product analytics on infrastructure controlled by Parabox rather than through a third-party advertising or behavioral-analytics network.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, protect the Service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Parabox, users, or others.
Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
Parabox does not sell your personal information for money and does not use third-party advertising SDKs or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs. Parabox does not use personal information to track you across other companies' apps and websites for targeted advertising. If these practices change, we will update this Policy and make any disclosures or obtain any permissions required by law or platform rules.
Parabox websites use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the site, maintain sessions, remember preferences, and support security and abuse prevention. Parabox does not use advertising cookies, third-party behavioral-advertising technologies, or cross-site tracking technologies. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, though doing so may affect how the site functions. If we later use non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will update this Policy and obtain consent where required by applicable law.
Core account, deployment, gameplay, and location history may be retained for the life of your account because persistent history is part of operating the Parabox platform. We also retain transaction and security information as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
When you delete your account or make a valid deletion request, we will delete or de-identify associated personal information—including stored location history—unless retention is required or permitted for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, transaction records, enforcement, or similar legitimate purposes. Information may remain in backups for up to 90 days after deletion, until those backups are overwritten under our backup lifecycle.
We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you.
You may initiate deletion of your Parabox account through the deletion mechanism provided in the application. You may also contact us at [email protected] with privacy questions or requests. Account deletion is intended to delete the account and associated personal information, including User Content associated with the account, except information we are legally required or reasonably permitted to retain as described in this Policy.
Deleting a Parabox account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription; subscriptions must be canceled through the applicable marketplace. If you used Sign in with Apple, Parabox will revoke the associated Sign in with Apple tokens as part of account deletion.
You can control device permissions including location, camera, and notifications through your device settings. Disabling or revoking a permission may prevent related features from functioning and stops future access through that permission, but it does not automatically delete information previously collected and stored by Parabox.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights concerning your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain information, and to opt out of certain processing where applicable. You may submit a privacy request at [email protected]. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Where applicable law permits, you may use an authorized agent to submit a privacy request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of authorization and may require you to verify your identity directly with us before we act on the request.
If applicable law gives you a right to appeal a decision concerning a privacy request, you may submit an appeal to [email protected] and identify the request you are appealing.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No Internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your account credentials and private operator tokens. If you believe your account has been compromised or you have discovered a potential security issue, contact [email protected].
Parabox may use or link to third-party services such as app marketplaces, mapping providers, payment processors, communications providers, hosting providers, websites, businesses, and venues. Those services may have their own privacy practices when they independently collect or process information for their own purposes. This Policy does not govern those independent practices.
If Parabox becomes available outside the United States, personal information may be processed in the United States or other countries in which Parabox or its service providers operate. Where required, we will implement appropriate mechanisms for international transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Parabox changes. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
